Checa confirms MotoGP return

Checa confirms MotoGP return
Carlos Checa has confirmed that he will return to MotoGP for the last two rounds of the 2010 season.

The Spaniard was a 500cc/MotoGp rider from 1995 to 2007, taking two wins and 24 podiums, before moving to World Superbike.

Checa, a former factory Yamaha and Ducati MotoGP rider, is to replace the struggling Mika Kallio at Pramac Ducati.

Checa tested a Desmosedici at Mugello before making his decision.

"Today 38 years old, best present race last 2 motogp, thanks!!" Checa wrote on his Twitter page on Friday.

Checa added that he will race with the #71, rather than his usual #7, which is now used in MotoGP by Interwetten Honda's Hiroshi Aoyama.

Checa finished third in this year's WSBK Championship for Althea Ducati, an outfit he will stay with for 2011, when it is likely to become Ducati's number one team.
