The Bancaja Aspar rider topped the final session before the Iveco Australian Grand Prix, ahead of Pol Espargaró and Marc Márquez on a wet Phillip Island track.

Conditions continued to be a central factor in proceedings at Phillip Island on Sunday morning as the 125cc category warmed up for the Iveco Australian Grand Prix, with Bradley Smith topping the timesheet in the wet 20-minute run courtesy of a best time of 1'51.507.

The Bancaja Aspar rider was ahead of Pol Espargaró (Tuenti Racing) and pole holder Marc Márquez (Red Bull Ajo Motorsport), with Sandro Cortese (Avant Mitsubishi Ajo) fourth and front-row starter Nico Terol finishing fifth at 1.717s off his team-mate's top time.

Cortese had a crash during the session at turn 11 which he recovered from immediately, whilst Sturla Fagerhaug (AirAsia - Sepang International Circuit Team) also experienced a fall during the session.
